Step 7 - Certify Your Food Product Security Plan

After the plan is complete, and has been fully implemented as determined by a full internal audit, your corporate management can make the following declaration:

This Food Security Plan has been developed, and is periodically updated, by people with the knowledge and skills to conduct the Food Security Planning process.  This signed declaration testifies that the completed PLAN has been fully implemented at the facility.

This declaration is attested to with signatures of responsible persons in the appropriate spaces on this page.  Once this page is signed electronically, it will update your Security Plan with a signed declaration page.

When am I done with this step?

You have completed this section when you have confirmed that the Food Product Security Plan is fully implemented and the two authorized persons have signed the certification signature blocks.

Prepare Your Food Product Security Plan

The last step in preparing your Food Product Security Plan is to secure the required signatures, lock your Plan, and generate your final version, and store the plan with your other corporate documents.

Thoroughly read the Declaration Page in the scrolling box provided.
Your Security Plan requires two signatures, one from the Corporate Security Administrator and one from the Facility Security Coordinator.
Select the name of the signer by clicking the down arrow.
If you need to change the date, click the down arrow.
Click the Save button to store a digital copy of the signature.
The Clear button allows you to erase the signature.
Prior to generating your Plan, you need to lock it.

Once your Plan has been locked, a new button will appear that allows the final Food Products Security Plan to be generated.

Unlocking Your Plan

Once your Plan has been completed, certified, and locked, TRAP-IT
Ô will not allow any additional changes to done to the Plan unless it is first unlocked.  This protects the integrity of your implemented Plan and eliminates the possibility of inadvertent changes.

A locked TRAP-ITÔ system presents the familiar Welcome screen on startup, but the only three functions available are viewing the Orientation, generating another copy of your Plan, and unlocking your Plan.  Clicking the Go button will take you to the Certification Page.

The certification page will allow you to generate another copy of your completed Plan or unlock your Plan for editing or updates.

Unlocking your Plan will delete the two signatures on your completed Plan and allow you to once again make modifications.  A security plan is no different than any other type of plan - it occasionally needs updating.  The good news is that because you completed your first plan, you now have a solid base to build on, so the process of updating should be easy and familiar.

To produce another copy of your already completed Plan, click the Generate button.

Clicking the Unlock button will allow you to make changes and updates to your Plan, but once again, remember that the signatures will be permanently erased.
